Here we are at the finish line! It was seriously an amazing experience! A true test of mind over matter, if it was up to my body I would have been walking about mile 8! Thanks to my awesome hubby for coming and supporting me! Bryan, my dad and Jen would meet me at different mile markers and cheer me on and I have to tell you it helped so much! I did get emotional a few times when I saw them because it meant so much to me that they were there! Thanks Dad and Jen! (Thanks Jen for all the coaching :))It was hard, but totally worth it and I will be doing another one....sometime soon!

HALF MARATHON!!!
Yes! It's true! I did it! I ran a half marathon...and survived! My sister-in-law, Emily, asked me if I wanted to run a 1/2 marathon with her, so I agreed. We had already been training for the Bone and Back race so we just had to add a few more days and miles and we did it. I'll have to say just the thought of it was intimidating but as we trained and when our long runs came, we did them and I realized I really can do this! It was the Rock and Roll Run on the west side of town by the old butte park. (where the new soccer complex is) The route was full of rolling hills but not any BIG ones (thank goodness) and I decided if I can run leg 4 in the bone and back race I could handle these rolling hills. Bryan, my dad and Jen were there to cheer me on and that meant a lot to me. My goals were to not stop and finish somewhere around 2hours 15min. I met both of them! I didn't stop once (believe me I wanted to!) and I finished in 2hours 16min and 4sec.! I was very proud of myself! Anyway, it was a fun experience and I'm so glad I did it. Thanks Em!

Ross Park!
I promised myself, Bryan and my kids (cade and the rest to come) that I wouldn't be one of those moms that wouldn't let my child do something because I didn't want to or didn't feel comfortable doing it. This post is a prime example of that! I don't LOVE being in a swimsuit, but I had to suck it up and take one for the team! My family, well all the ladies, decided to go to Ross Park and it was so much fun! My little sister Jen is like 37 weeks pregnant and looks so cute! I'll tell you what, I wouldn't be hanging out in the heat at 37 weeks but she was a trooper and we all had so much fun! Cade LOVED it! He was so cute, he would splash like crazy and then all the sudden just go head first into the water! He was a crazy man. He also decided to walk that day. He's been walking a little here and there by himself and everywhere if he can hang on to something, but that day, in the kiddie pool he decided to take off! I guess he likes the challenge of a little resistance! It's been a fun summer to go and do stuff like this with Cade and friends and family! Thanks ladies for a fun time!
The things we do for extra cash....
Ok so we have this joke at our house that Bryan has a desk job selling things on Craigslist. It's funny and all, but he really does make some extra cash and it's nice! The other night I came into the office and found a huge stack of old school books and Bryan hard at work trying to figure out a way to sell them. I've never ever doubted Bryan's abilities, and sure enough he found a way! So after making about $200 on the books he couldn't just stop there so we collected all our old cell phones and all his old calculators from school (you know the big Texas Instruments ones). Let's just say Bry's desk job treated us right that night! It was a good hit and now we are looking around the house for more items of value!
Bonfires and Smores!
During the summer Bry likes to cut down trees and burn them! Usually that leads to bonfires and smores. So we invited my family down and our friends James and Amanda and their boys and decided to have some fun. Bry got ambitious and attempted to build a teepee...lets just say he decided to forego that idea. Another thing that didn't go quite as planned is the bonfire. The wind decided to pick up so we couldn't burn the big pile of tree that Bryan created. So we had to settle for just a little fire, but it got the job done and we stuffed our faces with a variety of smores! My sister brought chewy chips ahoy cookies and said that's what they use instead of graham crackers and chocolate....so we tried them and yep! they are delicious! Then Amanda brought brownies and said they liked to use brownies with their smores....so we tried it that way and yep! they are delicious as well! Then a friend at work was telling me that they used reeses peanut butter cups for their smores so you better believe we tried it and yep! they are good, not my favorite of the night but still good! And of course we had a few of the normal kind! I was definetly on sugar overload that night! All in all it was a fun night and we still have lots of that tree to burn so I'm sure their will be another bonfire/smore night coming soon!
My Cute Garden....
This year my awesome hubby built me these raised boxes to put my garden in and I've loved them! I like them because it makes me feel more organized and not so overwhelmed. It's not much and please look past the weeds in these pictures, I need to take new pictures without all the weeds. But I wanted to get this posted because I am a little proud of myself! I hope over the years I will become a better gardner and know what I'm doing but for now, this is GREAT! Thanks Bry for building me my boxes!
