Summer.....so far!

 Sargent (Olsen) Family Reunion

It was at the Smith Fish farm.....or something like that....a mile away from Lava Hot Springs. We never made it to Lava because the weather on Saturday couldn't make up it's mind, but we had plenty to do back at the camp.  Cade really loves camping, but wasn't too sure about the fishing! He loved the whole experience up to the part when he had to touch the fish....wasn't happening! So Bryan told him him he couldn't fish anymore until he touched it.....it took a while, but he finally touched it and was so proud of himself.
Check out Cade's face in this picture! Priceless!!
Bry and Uncle Bri were goofing off while we were waiting on Cade :)

Andrew and Hayden....Hayden didn't have the same problem as Cade....

We did a little "skit" with our matching shirts.....we were a basketball team and Bry was the announcer and introduced everyone and what they were up to.  It turned out cute and fun!
 Best Buds!

Cade is really into pulling funny faces instead of smiling lately....so I joined in :)
Man I just love ALL my boys!!

JACE 9 MONTHS

Jace is an explorer and likes to get into everything and he also makes sure he makes a big mess wherever he goes! He's in the cupboards throwing everything out! I finally got a new editing program on my computer and attempted to take and edit Jace's 9 month pictures....I didn't do too bad...I thought!

I can't believe how big Cade is getting! He is a BUSY kid....but I would rather him be busy than a couch potato. He's really loving being a big brother and lately loves to "help" Jace.....whether it's finding a toy, walking, wrestling or even getting in trouble! And Jace just wants to be where Cade is and do whatever Cade is doing!

Camping at Palisades

Cade is really into being outdoors and LOVES going to the mountains...aka...camping.

We decided to go on a hike and my parents came up for the day to go with us.  Bryan thought it was 4 miles up to the lower lake...it WAS 4 miles...ONE way!! We ended up on an 8 mile hike and Bryan carried one of the boys the whole time, me and my parents took turns along the way and I had Jace in my chest carrier the whole way back! It was way long, but turned out to be fun still!! Cade was finding all sorts of "tracks" along the trail. If I remember right he saw a moose, deer, elk, bear and we actually saw a real snake! Gross!!

Hannah's Race

My niece Hannah had a goal to run a 5K this summer so I told her I would do it with her.  It turned out that my brother in law Andrew was in charge of a fundraiser 5K to help a nurse who had cancer.  What a good race to sign up for! My other brother in law Cody decided to run it as well....he did the 10K and KILLED it....was a little sore the next day but had a good time.  It ended up being a color run which basically means they throw chalk at you as you run.  It was fun and messy and maybe a one time, chalk it up for experience, experience! I had chalk everywhere! Hannah got sick a couple days before the race so she couldn't run a lot of the race but I was so proud of her for still doing it and finishing!! She said she doesn't know if she will do another race but was glad she did it.

 Cade's Gymnastics

Cade really loved gymnastics. If you were to watch him at any of the practices you would've thought there is no way this kid is paying attention or he doesn't have a clue what the right steps were....but let me tell you what! when it came time for the little "showcase" thing he knew every step and was so dang cute! The only problem was....all the pictures are blurry!! I hate taking pictures in a gym, they never turn out good! But you can still see how cute he is and he did so good and was so proud to show all of us....and the rest of the crowd!  Our favorite/most embarrassing part was him holding his pee-pee basically the whole time! I'm sure I've got a picture of it here.

Mother's Day

For Mother's Day, my sisters and I gave my mom a "pamper" day! We started by having Marisa give her a pedicure, then we went shopping and got her some cute shirts, then we went back to her house and put together her cute outfit, I did her hair and Jen took some photos....as you can see! :) After all the fun, and it was WAY fun, we went out to eat! It was a really good idea and turned out so good that I think we might make it a little Mother's Day tradition! My mom is so cute and I love her so much!

Oh! I forgot! We stopped by my dad's office and told him we had a "treat" for him! Notice my mom has an Almond Joy stuffed in a special location :) But we thought it was so cute how my dad reacted and he kept telling her how cute she looked! It was just a fun night!

Cade's Trip/Kinzie's Boards

My sister in law, Kinzie, needed to go to Utah to take her boards and invited the girls to go with her...well, Steph and I could go but we both had to bring our boys. What ended up happening is I had been feeling like Cade needed some one on one mommy time and come to find out Steph was feeling the same way about Hayden so we made arrangements for the babes and just had a big boy trip! It turned out to be the best little trip! It's exactly what me and Cade needed and he LOVED having all of my attention! I think he loved sharing it with his best buddy/cousin Hayden! Thanks to Kinz for inviting us, and having to tag along to all the kid-friendly stuff....although I should mention that we hit a couple Ross's and basically made out like bandit's! PS Kinzie passed, just like we knew she would :)

 Boondocks

Hogle Zoo....kind of a disappointment (for us adults I should say) because most of it was under construction, but I think the boys still enjoyed seeing some animals we don't have at our zoo.

Ok so Kinzie named her doll head Lisa and even Cade and Hayden would talk to Lisa or say "oh there's Lisa" so that was kind of a funny joke.

And while we were shopping Cade got a hold of my phone and took a bunch of pictures....

We found a couple parks while we were there and we also went the the Children's Discovery Muesum which I thought was WAY cool and Cade could've probably spent the whole day there! He just kept running from one thing to the next, I'm sure we didn't even see it all!

And this last picture is just too darn cute to leave out! We love to go for stroller rides and every now and then Dad will come and bring his pack and carry one of the boys! It's been a fun summer so far!

Jace 6 months....

In January Jace turned 6 months....I took his pictures at my house and my sister Jen was kind enough to edit them for me.  I thought they turned out great!! It seems silly to do this now that he is almost 10 months, but I've got to get it down for my journaling purposes....So 3 1/2 months ago this is what Jace was doing:
 STATS: 16 lbs. 9 oz
               27 inches
*Rolls everywhere and runs into everything
*Does cute clicky thing with thumb and pointer finger
*Knows how to get your attention with a short little scream "AH"
*Knows how to get Cade in trouble....just starts to fuss even before Cade is close to him! Little stinker!
*He's pretty clever, and thinks he's pretty funny.  He's already trying to keep up with Cade and gets so frustrated when Cade leaves the room.
*Getting closer to crawling! Gets up on all 4's and looks like he's going to take off and then just rocks.  He does this "pike" position that looks like "downward dog" It's funny to watch.
 *He LOVES real food!
*"Explores" with his pointer finger....He's always pointing or touching stuff with it, it's pretty funny some of the things he finds...holes in shoes, nail holes in walls, the shower "button",
*Has a funny growl, "disgusted" face with scrunched nose and all, and does this fake cough thing. You can tell he just wants to communicate so badly and he's finding funny ways to do it.
*LOVES his big brother! Cade can make him laugh so hard. It's so cute to see the connection they already have.
Good eater and good sleeper! He's a little picky sometimes and wants to move on to real food.  Just like Cade, Jace sleeps through the night like a champ! Done with breast milk because it just decided to stop! :(
*Has such a great disposition! He's super smiley and happy and just kind of mellow! He's a good sport and lets Cade torment him and tags along with everything we do.
and Cade certainly couldn't be left out! Especially with his awesome moose jammies on! :)
I love my boys!!

It's MAY already!!??

Oh boy I am already failing at one of my main goals this year.....organize photos and stay up on blog! LOL! As you can see it's not really happening for me. Anyway...It's been a good year for us so far and our two boys are just growing like crazy! Cade is just hilarious and wild and crazy and ALL boy! He definitely keeps us on our toes....something I don't think he will outgrow. :) He is 3 1/2 and just too smart for his own good and too independent for his moms good.  I have a few funny stories that might sum up Cade's fun personality, quick thinking and whit:
We live on 10 acres and have ditches all around us so we really try to stress the danger of the ditch and Cade is suppose to answer mom and dad when we call his name the FIRST time. Doesn't always happen and I try to test him quite often just knowing that he would like to figure out how dangerous they really are for himself. One day he was out front playing and I went inside to put Jace down in his crib and I came back out and couldn't see him....
ME: Cade! Please answer mommy......CADE! Answer mommy!.........CADE!!!!!!!!
He never answers but I can hear the rocks shuffling behind Bryans truck so I walk over there...a little upset....
ME: Cade! why didn't you answer mommy?
CADE: Mom....I've got some bad news!
ME: (trying not to laugh or even smile) What is the bad news?
CADE: A bear just hit me in the face....and now I don't feel very good
ME: Sorry that a bear hit you but you still need to answer mommy!!

Lately Cade is really into announcing/introducing games or activities..."Ladies and Gentlemen...Please welcome....." He's gotten it off of one of his little shows Bubble Guppies. Another bit that'll help this story is when I ask him to go get me something (diaper, wipes, kleenex...) I try to describe the object like "can you get me the wipes in the purple and white package"...
I couldn't get him to pick up his toys so I started to announce it....
ME: Ladies and Gentlemen, now presenting CADE Sargent....the fastest toy picker upper ever...I don't know folks, do you think he can do it?
Needless to say we finally got the toys picked up. Later that day we were outside cleaning up the yard and cleaning out daddy's truck and Cade was in the back of the truck and said....
CADE: Hey mom, I got an idea....it's a good one. How about you go get me....it's blue and it's white....guess what it is...
ME: I don't know Cade
CADE: (hands in the air and very enthusiastic) It's my puppy!! It's up in my room
ME: Cade, mommy needs to finish cleaning out the truck before Jace wakes up
CADE: (his L's are pronounced like Y's) YADIES and GENTLEMEN.... Now presenting... MOMMY SARGENT!! On your marks....get set....go....
Well! I HAD to go get the puppy now! It was way too cute!

He loves to listen to stories and it is so cute when he tries to tell stories.  His voice gets a little softer and lower and he hunches over..."once upon a time..." and my favorite is "and then" when he gets to the good part of the story.  Also lately he's really been into surprising us with silly things, especially Jace.  "Hold on guys, I've got a surprise....it's a really good one....you're going to love it...." and then he usually brings Jace a toy or book or something like that.

Cade is definitely a handful and there are hard days that's for sure, but I love him SO much! He is all the things I have mentioned but he's also kind, caring, compassionate, thoughtful, funny, creative, smart, CUTE!

Jace is almost 10 months!! WHAT!!!?? That's impossible I think! But it is very true! He is so stinking cute I can't stand it! He is such a smiley, happy baby....but don't let him fool ya! He's got a little attitude in there....He's getting a little feisty lately and it's hilarious on one hand, but not so funny on the other.  He's been crawling for a couple months now and is getting more brave with the walking stuff.  He will pull himself up on EVERYTHING and sometimes let go and stand for a bit and is also getting really good at squats.  He's different from Cade in the sense of getting in to everything. Cade was definitely an explorer but he moved on...if Jace likes something, or wants to put something in his mouth he doesn't get distracted easily! He stays focused until he reaches it or it is in his mouth!
He has this little growl he does, I'm sure he learned from his older brother.  If you growl at him he will most likely growl right back at you.  He is a natural when it comes to making boy noises....vroom vroom-ing cars and pushing them around like he totally knows how to drive cars....roaring like lions, bears, dinosaurs....whatever big brother is roaring with....and a nice, lovely scream. :) He also does this little nose scrunch thing and it's the cutest thing ever!  He will scrunch his nose and slightly open his mouth if he is disgusting with anything!  Big Brother gets that look a lot! He also does this clicking thing with his pointer finger and his thumb.  It's pretty cute.
When Jace gets excited his whole face lights up especially his eyes.  And his little legs just get kicking and he can't stand it!  It's the cutest thing when I'm talking to Bryan on the phone and Jace can hear his voice he tries to grab the phone and starts jabbering.  Then when Bryan gets home from work Jace makes a dash for him.  It's so cute!  Jace seems a little more mellow than Cade, but like I said he's got a fiery side to him....we will see how that pans out!

Jace has been such a blessing to our family and has brought lots of joy to our home!  He is just growing and developing perfectly and we are so blessed to have these amazing, wonderful boys in our family!
Here are some random pictures from the last couple months...

Yep! It's a tampon! Hey, whatever it takes sometimes!!
Cade loves to read and for Christmas my mom got all the grand-kids a subscription to the Highlights magazine...so every month in the mail he gets a new one and he says "is it MY magazine"
Cade is a really great helper around the house and I think I've created a monster because he loves to help me clean!
I try to do some kind of "learning" activity with Cade at least once a week and that includes working on letters :) That is a bee...in the shape of the letter B
He's always climbing and pretending and making up games and just being a boy!
Ok so this picture is hilarious because I've been letting Cade pick his own clothes and dress himself...Grandma and Grandpa Sargent brought this shirt home from Hawaii for Cade and he loves it! If I let him he would probably pick it everyday! One day he had on his Hawaiian shirt, these really baggy khaki pants and his army watering boots....we will work on his sense of style.
Oh my heavens this is Jace almost 7 months! He's a chubs!
 Our letter A activity
 JACE! He's so smiley!
Look at those big brown eyes!
 St. Patrick's Day
 Joke in Bryan's family....THE outfit!
As soon as it got even a little nice outside we were there!!! A little cooped up this year!!
 Too cute!
Costco had these huge bunny cookies....we had to get them and make them :)
Trying to keep the winter interesting...swimming at the hotels. Jace wasn't too sure at first and I can't get Cade out!
I want to do a different post for Easter because there are more pictures and I still need to get some of Jace in his little suit...he was sick on Easter! :(
Just like last year Cade wasn't too into quantity as he was quality! He wanted what was inside the eggs!
Dad is a good sport :)
 Stop! Just too cute....again!
Cade LOVES his dad!!! And LOVES to help! It's so cute he will go and get his tools and digs in!

Hello 2013!

Where has the time gone!?
Jace is now 8 months and thinks he wants to crawl and pull himself up on everything! He LOVES to watch Cade and wants to try to keep up, but can't, so he just kicks his little legs like crazy.  Cade can make Jace laugh so hard, it is so cute.  Jace is so smiley and happy.....MOST the time!  Lately he has found his little bratty side and knows how to get his big brother in trouble already!  He is a stinker, but a dang cute one! He does this little click thing with his thumb and pointer finger only on his right hand.  He also does this little short scream thing to get your attention....his little personality is coming right out!  He's got 2 bottom teeth and one snaggle-tooth fang on top.  He rolls, army crawls, scoots, just about whatever he has to do to reach whatever he's got his sights on! He can say: mama, dada, baba, and sometimes it sounds like he can say hi and ya....he is super ticklish and has the cutest little laugh.  I can't believe he is already 8 months and mobile!

Cade is just as hilarious and wild as usual! He is a great big brother and is learning how to be a big helper whether he likes it or not :) With Cade LISTENING is our biggest challenge! I just always pray that he will learn how to listen someday! HA! He is such a creative, active, goofy, caring, smart little 3 year old! Some funny things about Cade lately:
"I sure am...."
He uses the word SURE in a good amount of his comments.
MOM: Wow Cade! You are such a great builder!
Cade: I sure am mom
Mom: Did you pick up your farm stuff?
Cade: I sure did mom
You get the idea.....

He's getting more creative and aware with his prayers....
We don't have to "cue" him as much with his prayers and it's cute to listen to the things he comes up with....grandparents and his friends are a popular prayer topic.
The other night he says "mom, I want to bless the 3 little pigs so they will be brave and not scared of that big bad wolf" I said "wow Cade that would be a great idea!"
He's been having nightmares lately so we tell him that if he gets scared he can say a prayer and Heavenly Father and Jesus will help him to be brave and not scared.....a little while ago he woke up screaming but calmed himself down quickly so I ended up not having to go in and help him.  The next morning I asked him what happened last night? Did you get scared? He says: "ya, I got scared from the mean queen....but Jesus was there and he helped me"
Talk about proud parent moment! SO CUTE!!

Cade is in a gymnastics class and he loves it.  On all 3 "report cards" we've received so far we've had the same comments: needs to work on listening (wow what a surprise) and has ability to do everything just needs to stand still and concentrate! I just laughed and thought: "welcome to my everyday struggles"! He'll get it someday....right? :)

We also go to the library once a week for reading time and he is getting better at actually staying on his little pillow thing and listening to the story.  He has always liked reading books so I think that helps.

I feel like we haven't done anything too exciting around here, but every week seems to get filled in and we have plenty to do! Can't wait for nice weather to come and STAY so we can get outside! Hopefully I can get caught up here and be ready for all the SUMMER pictures! We shall see!
